Although, as this is typed, we are no longer in Texas...we're in Arkansas, after driving through Oklahoma today. Did you know that armadillos are common roadkill in this part of the country?? Or that you have to watch for turtles crossing the interstate? Well, one gave his life under our rental car today so I know this now!!
What a great trip we are having!!! Dawn, Bekah and Kirstin arrived in Texas Friday afternoon and then Riff came to our hotel and we had drinks and headed out to the bars!! Many many drinks were consumed, and there was a late night excursion to the taco cart for some lengua tacos :-) We all know they were good, but the memory of being there is a bit fuzzy! Of course we had to hit another bar after that - thirsty and all!!
We had the distinct pleasure of meeting Papa Dan, Riff's best friend, and have some great pictures of the evening - which will get posted as soon as I drag my lazy ass to the car to get the camera and download ;-)
Oh ya, this is Kirstin in case anyone is curious ;-)
And...we are all doing well with incorporating the phrases y'all and fixin-to into our vocabularies!!
